| Grand Rapids, MI - The Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (BIFMA) International has provided assistance to the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in the way of a document that helps project coordinators seeking credits for recycled content. The document, a "Definition of Standard Workstation Systems" is the result of many hours of volunteer effort by association members to define typical workstation configurations for both open plan and private offices. The LEED-CI Reference Guide is a user's manual that navigates a project through the successful certification of a high-performance green interior. LEED-CI was developed by the USGBC to address tenant improvements primarily in office, retail and healthcare facilities. With LEED-CI, tenants are empowered to maximize the potential of their workforce and create environmental change from the inside. It is part of a comprehensive suite of LEED assessment tools developed by the USGBC to promote green design, construction, and operations practices in buildings nationwide.
